3D|CGI - Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing"
Description
This non-commercial case study: The Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing" is far more than a classic automobile; it's a milestone in automotive design history. Its iconic gullwing doors, which earned it the nickname, were born from an ingenious solution for the tubular space frame chassis. Launched in 1954, this coupé combined racing performance with refined elegance, instantly becoming a symbol of status and technological innovation. This personal CGI project celebrates the timeless legacy of the 300SL through meticulous photorealistic recreation. Developed entirely in Blender, the work explores everything from characteristic chrome details to the subtleties of metallic silver paint, utilizing advanced techniques in 3D modeling, PBR texturing, cinematic lighting, and post-production. The goal was to capture not just the form, but the soul of this icon that set aesthetic and engineering standards that resonate to this day.
